Governor Schwarzenegger Vetoes Anti-Puppy Mill Bill

Governor Schwarzenegger Vetoes Anti-Puppy Mill Bill

Publication date: 2009-10-16
Publication name: CAPS
Headline: Governor Schwarzenegger Vetoes Anti-Puppy Mill Bill
Summary: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed AB 241, the anti-puppy mill bill.  Is it any surprise?  In 2000, Schwarzenegger and his family purchased a puppy from Elite Animals in West Hollywood, a pet shop that CAPS protested for about five months.  Scharzenegger's puppy was bred and brokered by Gerald and Angie Wensman in Melrose, MN.  CAPS has investigated this horrendous puppy mill twice.  Look under the Investigations section of our website for reports and undercover footage.  Elite Animals was still buying from the Wensmanns when CAPS started protesting the store in May 2009.
