| Diseases and Illnesses | We purchased a 9 week old Pomeranian from Happiness is Pets. Within a few days she had a runny nose and was sneezing a bunch. We took her in (to the vet specified by Happiness is Pets) and she was given some meds and they sent us home. Within the next few days she stopped eating, became lazy and had very bad diarrhea so we took her back. They tested her for parvo and drew some blood/tested her stool and everything was "negative"; So we went home with some more meds. Three more days passed and she still had diarrhea and her eyes were crusty so we took her back, yet again. The vet still claimed that everything is fine and she does not have distemper or anything and gave her a third med for her diarrhea. Two days has passed and she is now whining in bed and will not open her eyes at all. She was lazy all day today and is barely eating again. She is "covered for 14 days, or until the ongoing problem is resolved" under Happiness is Pets policy but we would like to have a different vet look at her for a second opinion. Who knows if the vet is working with Happiness is Pets to save both of their names from the horrible news going on lately. But we just paid 1200 for her so paying more in vet fees is absolutely ridiculous!! I hope shes okay because I have become so attached, but everyday there is a new problem and shes a miniature pom, so she is very tiny as it is and I am very worried. I am going back to the vet as soon as they open and trying to receive some answers but this is very upsetting and I will never ever ever recommend that place for a healthy pet!!
I am praying she is not diagnosed with distemper like the others, and the vet has said she doesn't have it twice, but I know there was a "misdiagnosis" with one of the other dogs recently deceased from this pet chain, and I am hoping she is not being misdiagnosed as well!! |
