Villa Park, IL has banned the sale of pet shop puppies and kittens unless the pet shop has owned the building for at least one year. They also banned the sale of companion animals in flea markets, parking lots, etc. On to other towns in Illinois! This is just the beginning."

Don't let our efforts end here! There's still so much YOU can do!

• Illinois residents can help by writing their local municipalities and asking them to ban the sale of pet shop puppies and kittens and to ban the sale of companion animals, such as dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, in flea markets, parking lots and other non-retail buildings.
• We'd love to see more people participate in our educational demonstrations. Join our weekly Happiness is NOT Pets protests at Orland Park and Lombard, IL and help us create awareness about the horrible breeding facilities the cute puppies in pet shops come from (check the CAPS Chicago Facebook page for more details).
• Help us by thinking BIG! We need people to sponsor billboards near Happiness is Pets and Petland stores in the Chicago area and to help us buy air space on the PBS affiliate in Chicago.
